(Tears of Infants? what's that about?) And the difficulty of the end game zone cranks from a tepid 6/10 to an immediate 11/10. as the game furthers that sudden spike with an even crueller addition if you want the "good" ending. but even with all the little frustrations & nitpicks i can't help but say that this game is still an overwhelmingly great journey to have survived and passed through.. Infernium is a slow paced game full of exploration and secret finding. It feels psychedelic in respects to the different atmospheres in each area you go to. Put some time into the game and it will pay off. (My playtime shows 0.1 hours but I've played about 3 hours roughly). Only 5 hours in at the time of writing, but I had to come and share a review for this game.After learning that it was created by the same developer behind Path to Thalamus, I had alot of anticipation for Infernium and what Coronado's perception of Hell could possibly be.Infernium is a psychological walking simulator, both it's creatures and sound design are crafted so that each encounter can actually send chills down your spine, and it works.There's no pause button nor a "go-back" save system, you will reach check points throughout the game, learn new tricks and abilities and that's it. It's up to you to learn how overcome each challenge.Is there a story? You will learn about it by reading writings on the walls as you progress through the enviroment, make sure you find them all cuz there's actually quite an engaging tale behind this game.I think we can also mention that right off the bat you can disable enemies and add more tutorials even before starting the game. A cool addition by the devs indeed, but this game is meant to be played as a horror experience, so come on, don't cheat it out.If I had to throw in something to criticise about, well, I'm not really fond of the design of the teleport bean effect, the ability works awesome! but the straight-line effect itself looks lackluster, you know? it contrast a bit since everything else looks so stunning. Also, and this is more of a "real" comment, I REALLY wish we could have the option to increase the hands FOV, since they're so well animated, it's a bit of a shame we can't fully see them sometimes. Yes, it's the Dark Souls of Pac-Man, really, and that's what makes this title work. Explore, pick up spheres of power, and avoid the many reapers as you traverse the world of the dead following a car accident and seek out the others that were here studying it.. it a good spooki time. I love this game, because I first loved MIND:Path to thalmus. Anyone that has that vivid an imagination and can translate it to a game that is fluid, and interesting, is alright. This game was too difficult for me in a few spots, but by retarding the enemies in the accessory settings, I made it through no problem. If you aren't akin to this kind of game, or like some of the negative reviews here, are simply flexing your reviewing slkills trying to land that dream job of reviewing games on your own blog...well, I suppose you might find something to complain about, but for the rest of us 98% ,this game is unique, and fun.No breakdown of the mechanics of the level design, the plot, or even the devs desired flow, just buy this game, right now it's only $5 Bucks, play it, and more than an hour, and you'll see what I mean, any less and you might become confused. The "No Permadeath" option will disable life lost when dying.No enemies will turn Infernium into a walking simulator experience.
